One shoe - three types of wool
During its participation in the Swedish Wool Initiative, Wool Rebel has developed a shoe made from three different types of wool materials - VADMAL, FÅRTEX® and GLACIÄRFILT.

LEICEESTAR SWI SHOE
Leicester SWI is a shoe that combines past and present, nature and innovation. It is part of the Swedish Wool Initiative, made from Swedish wool and insulated with the groundbreaking FÅRTEX®.
The insole is made of the Glacierblanket – stable, warm, and uncompromising – and the upper is crafted from traditional Vadmal with wool from Dalarna, manufactured in Sweden.
A design hybrid between historic Vadmal and a modern silhouette with a sneaker sole made from recycled cork.
This is Wool Rebels’ contribution to the Swedish Wool Initiative 2025.
THE SWEDISH WOOL INITIATIVE
Wool Rebel is a partner in The Swedish Wool Initiative – a collaboration aimed at elevating Swedish wool to new areas of use. The goal is to enable Swedish industry to easily access high-quality and competitive Swedish wool raw material.
SLOW FASHION
Wearing Swedish wool supports local actors and slow fashion: Choosing Swedish wool means choosing quality, animal welfare, and a future where fashion is about more than fast consumption.
The Swedish Wool Initiative project is led by Axfoundation together with Dalarna Science Park and is a collaboration between: Arena Svensk Ull, CTH Ericson of Sweden, Filippa K, Houdini Sportswear, Högskolan Dalarna, Insjöns väveri, Nyby Gård, Röyk, Science Park Borås, Sätergläntan, Tiger of Sweden, VERK, Västkustens ullinsamling, Väveriet i Bollnäs, Woolie Design, Wool Rebel, Wålstedts ullspinneri, Åddebo Ull. Projektet finansieras delvis av Vinnova och Region Dalarna.
