Leicester SWI is a slipper that unites past and present, nature and innovation. It is part of the Swedish Wool Initiative, made of Swedish wool and insulated with the groundbreaking FÅRTEX®. The insole is made of the Glacier Blanket, also in wool – stable, warm and uncompromising.

PROTOTYPE
During the SWI project, Wool rebel, together with Wåhlstedst Ullspinneri and Smart Textiles, have tested different ways of producing fabric and developed prototypes of them.
First, we tried making batting with non-woven fabric in an old traditional batting mill in Dala Floda, where the energy came from the rapids next door. Some samples did not work at all and fell apart, but some turned out incredibly well. However, we will use traditional woven batting with wool from Dalarna in the Leicester slipper.
The final specimen will be presented in the fall of 2025.
