THE STORY

Wool Rebel was founded in 2018 by Helena and Carl Holmquist. The idea was born when Helena met a sheep shearer at her children’s school, who told her that a large amount of Swedish wool was not being used and was simply thrown away.

Helena saw an opportunity to turn this valuable resource into something useful and began carding the wool by hand. She soon realised that entirely different methods would be needed to process the wool on a larger scale.

That was the beginning of Wool Rebel’s journey – from hand carding, through small and increasingly larger carding facilities, to where we are today: producing FÅRTEX® – Swedish wool insulation, made in Europe.
